ENJOY my little "PAY IT FORWARD" back to our friend Lucy.
Yes, I do love the I LOVE LUCY show. I mean who doesn't love Lucille Ball. She is a classic, one of the all time best female comedians. But, I talking about the other Lucy........................

The one over in Attic 24 in the U.K.
This journey all started last winter as I was looking for something to do while snowed in. We do get snowed in here outside of Chicago. It also gets very cooooooooooooooolllllldddddd, too........brrrrr
To continue on with my story. I had just learned a new trick.... How to GOOGLE something and then Click on IMAGES at the top. From there you get a wide variety of pictures. And you know me, I'm all about the pictures...... So, I googled RIPPLE or SOFT RIPPLE, I can't remember which..... but up came and glorious slew of wonderful color. Of course, the Attic24 palette caught my eye immediately. From there the rest was history. Off I journeyed into first Flickrland and then I keep going back to GOOGLE and asking for ATTIC 24 to look at her blog again.... Just couldn't get enough.................. So, I'm dedicating the blog today to one of my new UK friends..... LUCY in the ATTIC24.
I am please to do this as finally, there is a Flickr group dedicated to those of us who are inspired by her.....LucyInspired
Yipppppppppppppppppppppppppeeeeeeeeee.... I have been looking for Attic 24 goodies of other for a lonnnnnnnnnnng time....
So as I looked through my stuff for things to post. I thought I'd share some of my goodies with you all today.
Here was my first ripple ever...... gave to my Mom for Mother's Day.
The I ventured into the land of grannies. This one took much longer, but I'm thrilled with the outcome.
Did I tell you there is a new Flickr group to post you Attic 24 stuff in.
With some of the left-over yarn I whipped up some of her jar specials and a quick vase cover for my tulips.
I mean I even start to snuggle up in my blanket, drink tea and read a novel about England.
So sad to think it will be a while till I see my garden again next spring. This summer just went toooooooooo fast.
If I forgot to mention there is a new Flickr group in Attic 24's honor.... And guess what, she is not even having to manage it. It's being handled for her by all of us. All she had to do is sit back and enjoy.
Then I moved onto my next one with some of my home dyed yarn alternated with some more of the leftovers from the very first one I did. So this is basically all stash yarn....
Sometime this summer I ordered up some more yarn... Surprise, I went with a different palette than normal. The "Man Colors" as S called them. I'm getting use to it and starting to love it as it matches the landscape outside.
I just posted this on the new Attic 24 group in case you haven't found yet.....
Over on Flickr at.....
So, I'm guessing you may have clicked on one of the links above and found the group.....he-he....
So, as some of you may know I'm getting ready for our trip to Door County.
Last night, I was thinking about a give-away, after receiving and wonderful nappie for Aiden as my first winner....
So, I'm thinking about making one of my pincushions. I have a number for the post in mind. It's still out there but not too far. It's not 50 and not 100. Somewhere in the middle. I am betting those of you who read my blog will know..... It's a number that came up for me recently. I have no idea when it will hit.
But, I'm quessing after DC....
This one I gave to my Sister-in-Law Liz for Mother's day. My nephew, Tyler is Autisic (16) and my brother is the CEO of Autism Speaks here in the States. Needless to say my family is very involved in working towards a solution. More on this later.
So I added a puzzle piece to her's in Tyler's Honor.
So as I start to pack for our trip, of course the first thing I'm worrying about is getting all my yarn, hooks, scissors, and patterns in order and ready to go. A week without TV, Email, FLickr, Blogging and oh, did I tell you about Facebook.
Here are some of the yarns for my new pincushions.
I'm going to give it the "old college" try and make my first tutorial as I go along. Hopefully, I can gather my scatter brain and get some stuff down. But, word of warning, remember I'm a true leftie.
If you have read this far. Let me know what size hooks you all use. I'm thinking of adding one of my ergonomic ones to the pot.
I really have to stop playing around, but I couldn't help but change my hair today, as the last of the flowers start to disappear in the gardens.
Remember, this is from DC., so will be stopping by this potter and hopefully taking some more pictures. We also go to a Supper Club up there, where there is one on each table.... Just tooooooo cute.
Cheers.
Sending a big shout out of Thanks to LUCY for mentioning me on her blog today. Yipee... Please feel free to join on as a follower over here too. I would love to get to know you and see all of your Lucy Attic24 goodies and how this has changed your view on life.....
Thanks so much for stopping by and hope to see you again.
I sure wish this blogger had a spell check...sorry....

I too love Lucy - it was because I happened upon her blog that I am in this blogging game too. She's a real star!
Thanks for your comment on mine re the ketchup and yes now I do understand as a home with no tea - well that would be seriously weird! Isn't it great that we can share our cultural differences and learn something new all the time?

What a lot of lovely colourful cheerfulness over at your's today!
And yes, I DO get the sauce thing, because even though I'm english I hate gravy so everything is covered in Heinz tomato ketchup. That or cranberry sauce. I have even been known to put strawberry jam on my roast dinner, when I've got no sauce or cranberry jelly! Yes, I most definitely DO get the sauce thing!!!!!
Lots of love
Carolyn xx
I'm with you on the Lucy Love! Your projects are looking great, I haven't actually finished anything yet....but busy busy getting there!
Well if the Heinz factory was still here in Brum I could have popped and got you some! It wasn't too far from me. We are so sad that it's closed down after years. Tutorial great idea, you'd be good doing one. or two. or three. Keep you out of mischief eh!
I'm sorry -- did I miss something? I thought there was a new group on Flickr? tee hee! I joined -- of course. I think I'm becoming hooked on your ripple-ness. I do like the one with the scraps. I think it's my favorite so far.
Please, please, please write a tutorial on the pin cushions. I haven't ever made one and yours are calling my name OUT LOUD!
Brilliant Post! I have been addicted to Attic24 for over a year now - her blog is absolutely brilliant...now I hear word there is a flickr group especially for Ms. Lucy. Must got immediately for my crochet colour fix.
Oh I just love that head vase, looks a little like Lucille Ball don't you think?
I really enjoyed this post - what a lot of beautiful things you have made! The Lucy love is much deserved isn't it?
Yes i enjoy attic24 as well i am just this minute finishing of a attic 24 inspred cushion front so i will def be showing it off in the flickr group. love your pics.
I love everything you make!!!! And yes attic24 is incredible :0)
Yes I love Lucy too !!! i learnt to crochet granny squares when I was 13, but hadn't picked up a hook in over 23 years (my main passion was knitting). Then after coming across Attic24 last year I was inspired to learn how to crochet again. I have taught myself, with a little help from Lucy, & I haven't looked back since. I love your projects they are gorgeous !!
Thanks to Lucy, I've done several blankets, bags, flowes, you name it. She really is an inspiration for us all!!
Your blog is so lovely, too!! I've just discovered it, so now I have to look more on your blog :)

My story begins like so many others. I learned to crochet last fall and immediately got hooked (ha!). Searching around for some ideas I too clicked on Googles Images and there she was-in all her granny, ripply, colorful gloriousness. From that moment Attic24 has been a daily (often twice-daily) visit. I am totally serious when I tell you that before Lucy came into my life my wardrobe consisted of shades of black, grey, green and more black. Now, people can't believe I wear pink! Thank you, Lucy for bringing back the color. And thank you, Kate for putting in motion what we all have been wanting to do, say a great big THANK YOU to Lucy for helping the hooky world go round!
I really enjoy Lucy's inspirational blog, in fact have just finished my own version of BB and will now be able to show it off on flickr - will dip into your blog too now!
A big Hello from The Netherlands for you Kate. I always read along on Attic24 and was inspired to make a neat ripple blanket. But I'm not making it in Attic colors though but in sea/beachy colors because ..... it is meant for my own attic which has a beachy look.
But it's not finished yet but I'll try to show a picture when it has progressed a bit.
Kind regards from The Netherlands,
Hannie
I love Lucy, too. Thanks to her I was inspired to put down my knitting needles and pick up a hook. :)
I'm another blog "reader" who recently found this wonderful, colourful, creative, friendly world of blogging when I clicked on a link to Lucy's Attic24.
I did some basic crochet many, many years ago but after reading Lucy's blog and being "hooked" by the wonderful ripples I decided I must start again.
Serendipity took me to this blog Rebecca who was planning a crochet workshop in my home town. I have signed up and can't wait to join the ripplers!
Lucy sent me!!! I am mostly a knitter/spinner but because of the inspiration of Lucy and several other crochet bloggers, I am about to start a hexagon granny using stash yarns and some beautiful hand-dyed yarns that were meant for another project that will never be! I have to finish up a knitted shawl first because I know the shawl will not get finished once I start hooking!!! lol I have learned SO MUCH from the online community and am truly grateful for what so many of you have shared through your blogs! Each day I make it a goal to learn one new thing...you all make that an easy goal!
Thank you for the mention for the group, it's growing so fast! It's nice to have all of us Lucy inspired people in one place! ANd thanks for sharing your attic24 inspired projects with us, I love them!
I only came upon Attic 24 about 4 months ago and it's a real joy to log on and see her glorious creations and wonderful pictures!
I've always loved anything English and when I dream, I dream I live in England so I now realize that I'm probably a neighbor of Lucy since I live in a village much like hers in my dreams.....ahh, it would be so lovely if it were reality.
Love your blog! Guess how I got here? I've been following Lucy's blog for several months now. I've made a couple of her lovely bags; you can see pics on my blog. Now wantto make a ripple blanket .... in brights! Have a great trip. I'll pop back soon! Ros
Hi, just popped over from Lucy's to say hello. I've also been inspired to try crochet after seeing Lucy's creations, but so far have only done a few granny squares, but one day I'm going to do a Lucy bag for myself, I am, really I am.
Hi, I've popped over from Lucy too. I love her stuff, and she's inspired me to start hooking. I've not done much more than a few granny squares, but it's a start and I'm going to make myself a Lucy bag one day, I am, really! LOL
I love Lucy too and am making a hexagon blankie and just started a ripple scarf for moi. I can look at her stuff all day long, and now that I have discovered you, I can look at your goodies, too.
Yes. yes you are correct to assume it's going to be a Ripple. Am doing a swatch at the moment. I know, I know, no one swatches for a ripple blanket/afghan, but I don't really know what size I want it and how much yarn it'll take. But I am started at any rate.
Am enjoying your blog posts.
