I'm feeling a little like
ELMER FUDD-ish
this morning.
As I sit here and count...I'm a bit FEIST-ee
1-2-3-4 {feist}
That silly Rabbbbbbit has eaten every one of my plants down to the quick.
I...so....wanted to have some of these blooms in my garden this summer.
Remember, I had gotten the seeds and brought them all the way back home from Florida.
Gone...every single one is gone this morning.
Down to the quick.
But, it's only June still, right... they still my come back.
We are going to have some serious problems here, if Peter gets to my
ZINNAS,
which are my favorite flower by the way.
ORPHAN ANNIE is moving right along.
I, also, know who this is going to.
Don't you just love when you can get one of those Crazy Aunt gifts out of the way early on.
Many of you have asked for the pattern.
So, if you have gathered up all your ORPHAN balls.
Remember, with this one...it's all about depleting the stash.
I actually have some wool, cotton and acrylic all mixed in.
Plain, Dyed and Striped too!
Ready to count.....1,2,3,4 {plain white t's}
Foundation Chain: multiple of 17 chs plus 3.
(mine: 17 X 9 + 3=156)
should have done x 10 or 12
CLUSTER or BOBBLE:
CL = keeping last loop of each DC on hook,
work 3 DC inot next stitch or space,
YO and draw through all 4 loops on hook.
Row 1:
1 sc into 2nd ch from hook, sc to end of row, turn
Row2:
CH 3, sk first 3 SC, {3 DC into next SC, sk next 2 SC} twice,
{3DC, CH3, 3 DC} into next SC *sk next 2 SC, 3DC into next SC, sk next 2 SC, CL into next SC, sk next 4SC, CL into next SC, {sk next 2 SC, 3DC into next SC} once, sk next 2 SC, {3DC, CH3, 3DC} into next SC; rep from * to last 8SC, sk next 2SC, {3DC into next SC, Sk Next 2SC twice, 1 DC into last SC, turn.
Row 3:
CH3, sk sp between turning CH and next 3-DC group, 3DC into each of the next 3 spaces, {3DC, CH3, 3DC} into next CH-3 sp, *3DC into next sp, CL into next sp, 3DC into nest sp, {3DC, CH3, 3DC} into next 3-CH sp; repeat from * to last 3sps, 3DC into each of the next 2 sps, 1DC into sp between last 3-DC group and turning CH, turn.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3: till length desired.
2 rows of each color. As many colors as you like.
I did repeat some of the colors two or three times.
Here is a close up of the CLUSTER/Bobble stitch. The bottom of the valley
I don't want this leftie to confuse you more, with pictures of my hook.
I promise this is easier than it looks. Once, you have the first couple of rows started.
You will be off and running and can watch you favorite shows at the same time.
{by the way I'm so over this season of The Bachelorette}
I'm almost done with my border
I will be back with the pattern for this one soon.
But, as you can see. It's an absolutely perfect morning here.
The door is open, the humidity is down for now, there is a fresh crisp breeze in the air.
I'm taking pause to head out and see what Peter has been up to out in my gardens.
Because, well, if he is in my ZINNAS. You never know what I will do.
I could get even more FEIST-ee.
Please, please let me know if you start and O.A. and have any questions.
Also, I would love to see what colors you are finding in your stash to use.
So, post away and come back and leave me a link so I can see.

Well I have written your pattern down - will convert it to UK stitch terminology so I know where I'm at then I'm going to have a go at a little orphan of my own. Thank you so much for taking the time to do this xx
Thanks for that Kate.
I have been linking you on SIBOL TODAY. I don't know if you've visited yet!
Hugs and thanks Suex
I don't know how you can crochet so fast Kate! I would love to try your beautiful throw but I'm still working on my "Crazy Colors" one. But I am on row 9 (out of 12) now. I just can't crochet quickly. I have dreams of trying one with Christmas colors and I would love to do one outlined in light blue (instead of black). Plus our nephew and his wife are expecting in November so I would like to do a baby throw for them. Even retired I don't know when I will do everything. LOL! Tomorrow we head down to Denali not sure where we will be on July 4th. We just wing it as we go. Glad to hear your weather has improved. We just learned a bad storm came through our neighborhood at home and took off a large piece of vinyl trim over our front door. Another project for the handyman. Have a great day! We are going to some museum here in Fairbanks today. Should be fun.
Im gonna copy the pattern down for future ref - hands sore at the moment so not crocheting! Would love to make an OA one day - and as for that Rabbit.........x
So lovely Kate! Thank you for the pattern. I don't know what you'll do about that rascally rabbit!
Hugs XX

I have fallen in love with your blog!! That yarn, those colors!! And oh how I wish I could do that pattern you just posted! I mentioned your beautiful blog on my blog post today.
Cheers.

Hi Kate,
I'm off to my CWA social day today but instead of playing Mahjong like I usually do I'm taking my crochet hook for a few more tips. I'm finding working on the foundation chain the hardest thing to do - that and actually working the other hand - not the hook holding hand, the other one.
I've done my homework - double crochet around the edge of a knitted square and continuing in around a granny square fairly easily so it's not going too badly and the next lesson will be granny squares - yippee. I'm very keen to do that!
Cheers
Helen
PS You know RABBIT STEW tastes very good!!! I think that is your only solution otherwisw rabbits being rabbits you'll soon have douzens of the furry little monsters eating your lovely garden.
Oh I love zinnias too and I forgot to plant any this year...drats. I love crochet too and that I am doing this summer. Peter needs to visit the neighbor's garden haha!

Fabulous Kate..... I can picture everyone here hooking away furiously to make there own! Gorgeous flowers too :0)
Hmmm very tempting, but I have Granny stripes, roses for cushion and slippers ( I know I know )on the go just now. I'm going to write this one down and save it. I love the idea that I might be able to find a home for all my orphans!

PS If you borrow a cat he will see the rabbit off for you !
Oh I so adore Zinnas too...so bright and pretty..hope Peter will think twice before munching away...maybe they taste not so great..lets hope.

Hi Kate...first off I am rebelling against the Bachelor and Bacherlotte, it's all a bunch of garbage...!! I sure those silly rabbits think twice on those Zinnas! Have a wonderful holiday weekend...Debbie Hey did you see my Oprah audition? It is up and you can vote if you like it, as much as you would like to.
This looks wonderful! I'm wondering, though, what size hook did you use/recommend? I can't wait to start one of these!! :)
Thank you so much for this pattern!!!! I love your blog, such happy place to be. I'll be back for sure! Have a wonderful day.
kan het patroon ook met tekens?
en op de site?
moeilijk voor mij engels te lezen
thank you very mutch
love your blog....and thanks for the lovely ripple granny pattern. I have a question! In your written pattern, you do not chain 1 between the 3dc (shells). I have never done a granny without the chain 1 in between. Is that intentional? Much thanks!!!

so, do I understand, in row 2 you do 2 cluster stitches and in row 3, you only do one cluster? picture looks like there are 2 clusters in each row. wannna get going on this and keep hitting bumps in the road....
I am a little confused.. I was taught to crochet by my mother but have never crocheted from a pattern before. I have finished the first three rows, the instructions say to repeat rows 2 and 3 over and over but this is where I become confused.. There are no SC's left as per the instructions. Can you explain this a little more in depth for me please?
