And Then You Are Gone

OK, I fess.
I've been a bad, Garden Bell.

I know if I keep letting this get away from me
before I know it ......

AND THEN YOU WERE GONE
{pink martini}

So, I'm just popping by to let you know that when out this weekend
have no worries.

My hand will be warm and my fingers free to snap away.
Thanks, PAMMY SUE for the pattern.
Click on her name and she can send you the link.
And be sure to check out the lastest on
THE OL's

So, here's the deal.
It's been a tough start back for me in the new year.
So this morning I took a stroll back to see just what I was blogging about last year.

WoW... amazing....
I had the same LITTLE CUTIES for breakfast this morning.

Oh, that's right we have a birthday boy in the house this weekend.

I better get whipping on that CARROT CAKE today.

Oh.......now I get it.
This is what's been missing.

I was DYEING YARN last winter.
That's what I need to do.
Silly me.  I haven't done this in a while.

That's it.  I'm off to order up some dye-ing yarn from

It will be perfect for my next pair of gloves.
Because, if you can imagine, living here in the Windy City.
Most of us, do have more than one coat or jacket.
And that means we need a scarf, pair of mittens and hat for each.

There you go.  I'm off to a much better start today.
I can stop feeling all weepy eyed and boo-hoo-ie.

Looks like we have a busy weekend ahead.
My wishes to all of you.

14 Fun Thoughts from Friends:

That slow start to the New Year could be a hormonal thing, or, maybe with all of the holiday festivities over and done it is cabin fever and just the plain old blues. Holidays wear me out, and it isn't taking much for me to just veg for awhile. With all these hubby health issues, baby shower, daughter in her 3rd trimester and my house suffering from complete neglect I am in a funk. I thank God for my hobbies, the threads I play with are keeping my sanity in check. My blog friends perk me up with all their sweet words, kind thoughts and by sharing what is new with them (good and bad). I love those hand warmers you whipped up Kate. I have seen many patterns here and there and made a mental note that they would be a fun project in the future. You go girl and dye some yarn! I can't wait to see what you have planned for that. Thanks for the weather report, we had several inches of snow this morning. I am glad we did our traveling yesterday. It was gloomy out and looks to be lightening up, I sure could use some sunshine.

Your gloves turned out cute, even if the yarn was a PITA. I always love to see yarn dyeing pictures! They area always so cool. Look at those bubbles!

I'm in a blog slump now too. Nothing going on but Ollie's deal, and I don't want to bore everyone with the same old pictures and dog talk. I'm going to take a break for a few days -- maybe the whole weekend.

((hugs)) Kate.. I had that after holiday blues.. but you're doing the right thing by getting involved with something that brought you creative joy. I am finding excitement by signing up for a few classes.. and the sun is shining today! Also, my swimming is helping. Love your mitts!! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Oh my gosh, I love the photo of the water drop on your dyed yarn. Perfection.

Winter can be a funky time, inspiration-wise. Hang in there and start dying!

I was in HL today, perusing crochet books. I'd love to learn. But all those stitches! Looks hard. I didn't buy one. Had to pay my car tag today and will have to wait. Not sure if I have the nerve to try and learn this craft!

Kate, it seems like so many of us are in a funk. I don't think it has to be with the holidays, maybe the lack of sunlight? I am glad you are going to do some dyeing, it sounds like a great idea. I think as women we keep trudging on and pretty soon things work themselves out.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

Hey Kate! I'm worried about what will happen March 1st. Google sure is sending lots of messages about the changes that will take place. Last year when blogger made updates, my blog disappeared. I am positive it was because I never gave Google a contact telephone number. I got a message from Google, gave them my mobile, and then I get a message with details about being able to sign back in and then my blog was back. They made it sound like my account was being hacked, but I don't believe it. Talk about Big Brother.

I just used Piknik a few times but sure wish it wasn't going away. It is very easy to use and the free accessories are great.

I've been in a funk the past week. I think it is hormonal. Doctor wanted to put me on "the pill" to regulate me, but after some research, I've decided I want nothing to do with it. My body will do what it needs to do and I'm not gonna try to stop Mother Nature.

Anywho, I hope you are having a good weekend. Sending warm wishes and hugs your way, Tammy

Kate,
Sometimes it is hard to get going again after the holidays. Take a little time to relax and do something that warms your soul, like dying yarn, and once you get a little more rested and replenished the energy should hopefully start ramping up. I hope so. Sometimes just looking at wonderful blogs motivates me to get moving. I hope you feel perkier soon!
Hugs,
Julie
