Shining Star

Some news from the Garden
THE FOG
is lifting.
BLUE SKY
are here today.

Some tunes are playing on the radio.

A little
EARTH, WIND and FIRE
to show you my
{SHINING STAR}
day

Some yummie new colors have popped up.
The Earth, Wind and Fire tones with a little Mountain Hue are what's on the docket next.

I have one more to go.
The last of the blankets for my Nephews and Niece.

You remember,  ORPHAN ANNIE, this pattern and blanket was for Avs.
Which by the way, I my most frequently visited post yet to date.
Avery is my favorite niece {only}, she is the one I'm teaching the fine art of crochet too.
That is when I can get with her and she is off the LaCrosse Field or not on stage preforming her latest role in the local theater.

Or remember,  BEE's KNEES, who I made this past summer for, D.
I was really quite fun to dye LAX into a blanket in his school colors.
That is until I found out he was changing schools this fall.

And now, that last one to be made for a birthday treat.

T-MAN
as he likes to be called.

What a special guy.
My nephew Tyler struggles with AUTISM.
He holds a very special place in my heart.
I know he is my SHINING STAR.

Which of course will be the name of my next endeavor.
I owe a big thanks to a few of you who have helped me out of the
HOLIDAY FOG and have been my other shining stars.

First, to TERESA and KRIS-SIMPLIFY,
who have been keeping me going playing into the wee hours of the night,
on WORDS with FRIENDS.
And they have been kicking my,...you know what.
Pop over they both are worth a follow.

And then there is one of my BFFs,  PAMMY SUE
who with her humor, style and she makes me laugh, giggle and chuckle, till my side hurts charm.
OK, she does have her moments, like us all, you know, where our hubbies would say we are....
NOT SO CHARMING.

But, when she asked if my
HOOK was DEAD
and sent me the idea for my next gift.
I knew I need to follow her

{click above for the link and to see how far along she is}

So, before I'm off and hooking on
MY SHINING STAR

Here's a thought.
You pop on a little
EARTH, WIND and FIRE
have a peek outside.

Because, I don't know about you and where you live,
but here in the WINDY CITY, we are having a crazy winter.

Can you believe that we haven't seen a flake of REAL snow yet.
The grass is still actually green.

It's crazy, but the other day, I actually went out to look and see if my
TULIPs were confused and starting to pop.

NOTE:  I can't wait for the summer when I now can take a picture of my
WHOLE GARDEN with my new lens.

But, for today.  I'm going to head back inside.
Find a fresh cup of coffee.
PICK up my HOOK
and snuggle in for a few and start.

So, if you have ever wondered just where I sit.
Yes, it's in the BARKO-LOUNGER.
It's the only piece of furniture that my SCOOTER has ever bought.
I took it over a few years back after my hysterectomy and haven't given it back.

So, now that I've shown you mine.
Show me your's.
I would love to see where you do your best work.

Awww Kate.. thanks for the linkie! I am excited to see what you're going to do with that yarn! I have a whole basket of beautiful KnitPicks and am trying to decide what to do with it. I'm still plugging away on my neat ripple.. and I work in my recliner too! It's leather and hubby and I have matching ones. Did Scooter get another new one for himself?

((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Hi there Katie. I have been lost in a fog as well. Holiday withdrawal is my explanation for all of this. Maybe it is what one feels when coming down from the lack of sugar and cheese balls? Our trip to Cleveland was a bust as well. We were sent home for hubby's body to rest up 2 more weeks and we thought this leg of the journey would be behind us. They needed $2 worth of stem cells and he only put out 38 cents worth. So trying to be positive when you are in a funk is a challenge. Oh what fun for you to get that new lens. Can't wait to see all you can do with that. I will be watching to see what you do with those new colors, I haven't tried the star patterns yet, but they look to be fun. Word games? I wish I could find someone who loves Scrabble. I use to play it for hours on Yahoo Games and Pogo. Just doesn't seen to be enough hours in a day anymore for all I like to do. Always fun to find someone who thinks they can beat your butt.....LOL, ha ha ha ha ha!!

Kate my fog is still going strong. I haven't looked at a blog in days and am forcing myself to get caught up today. Love your new yarn colors and your nephew is very handsome. I work with special need children so I hold a special place in my heart for all of them. Glad your fog is clearing....now if I could just get mine to lift a little.
Hugs to you,
Meredith

Yipee! I can't wait for you to start. Thank you for joining and supporting my little group, which may end up being just you and me who actually make anything. hee-hee. Oh well, I tried. I appreciate the link to the group too. Maybe it will catch on. Last I checked there were 10 in the group.

I love that RED couch! Why didn't I know about that? I can't believe I've never noticed it in any of your pictures before. I want a red couch too. I keep thinking about your mother house and how pretty everything looked. Sigh. I wish I had an eye like that.

I'm looking forward to hitting the hay with my RR and a couple of mags I got in the mail today. Off to the bubble bath right now.

Now I know: It's the fog falling onto me and making me crazy. Your post helpt.

Nice Sunday to you!

The weather here has been crazy, too. No snow in Dec or Jan - the day before yesterday, it almost reached 60 degrees! We couldn't believe it. Colder weather is coming, but still no snow in the forecast.

I'm crocheting some of my obsession scarves for my (someday) etsy shop.

Love, love anything by Earth, Wind and Fire - they are my go-to happy music.

Hello Kate,
Everyone has a little 'FOG' now & then. It's a time to refresh, think of new ideas to share and a mind cleansing. Your yours are lovely. These will be so pretty in the new blanket! Wish I had a recliner to spread out in. How comfy! Maybe it's time for some here....LoL! Yes, the weather is a bit confused and here, down south, I have seen some blooming of bushes in my yard & in others as well. I hope our world doesn't take on any more drastic changes anytime soon. Too many horrors have happened already in 2011.
So, enjoy your week hun!
