This and That

Today is just a little of

THIS and THAT
and trying to keep the day running

SMOOTH
{santana}

Just wanted to give you a peek at where my
SHINING STAR
stands.
It's coming along nicely, but to be honest the jury is still out.
These rows just keep getting longer and longer.

Also, that I'm going to take a break from it today before finishing the last 5 rows and border.

I need to whip me up some finger-less gloves as mentioned.

My fingers are getting cold outside when I take pictures.

I've also been trying out some of the "other" PICNIK options here.
In combination with Photo Shop and BeFunky, I can do some framing again and shadowing
to my pictures.  Do I love?  I think you know the answer to that question.

I have completely made the switch to Google Chrome and all the other issues seem to have gone away.
But, between you and me, I'm doing my research now on moving to WordPress.
I have a real thing about "big brother" taking over and making us use something.
Plus, they are not doing a very good job of advising us of these changes.
How long did it take for "US" to figure out you need to be on Google Chrome,
for the whole commenting issues to go away.

Well, I'm off and running today.
Time to pick up.
But, my goal this week is not to stress the blog stuff.
I'm going to take it one step at a time.
I'm going to make a promise to myself to

TAKE IT EASY
{eagles}

Now, let's see what pattern I can find before my fingers freeze.

Love the color of your kitchen cabinets!

Thank you so much for your ideas on where to go in Chicago, really appreciate that! And I will bring my warm clothing.

Funny, I just posted a link to a pattern for fingerless gloves! I call them hand warmers, but it is the same.... hope you like it!

Enjoy,

love Maaike

That is turning out lovely! Good job.
I have been very interested in hearing about WordPress. Now, I think there is a Wordpress.org and another one. Do you know the difference? I'm interested to see if you make the change and your thoughts as you do.

Your round ripple is looking great! Love how you changed up the color rows. What is that multi-colored yarn? If you need patterns for the gloves, email me.

Ollie is home and seems to be doing well. Yay!

Loving the look of your ripple, Kate. Makes me want to start another one
I loved the Poseidon Shell Mitts on Ravelry, but might be a little too open for what you want - its in my projects (Sorry can't post the link)
Thanks for the tip about the comments - I for one, still did not know :-)

I love the new blanket so keep going with it. Is it going to be a gift for someone?
I am not using Google Chrome either. don't like to be told what to do.In fact I haven't embraced any of the new blogger stuff. I hate chance especially when it is forced on me!
Cheers

Your ripple circle is gorgeous! It reminds me of those cakes where they put the frosting on top in different colored circles and then drag a knife through to make a pattern very similar to that. I have also been wanting some fingerless gloves, so I can't wait to see what you come up with! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

I used that same yarn to make the most gorgeous scarf, I gave it away. It will make the best fingerless gloves. So soft and warm. Take care.

Kate your round ripple is quite fetching. When we start something like that we tend to forget just how long it takes to work those outer rows, but oh how worth it when completed. I never tire of looking at the homes of fellow bloggers. Had I not been a nurse I would have gone to school for interior design. Now all this blogger and Google stuff has me confused, I have tried a lot of things by trail and error, but just want to be done with the headache and move on to the fun stuff. What ever happened to the days when people wanted the consumer to be happy? It must be so much easier for them to keep everyone in the dark....someone hand me a flashlight!

Oh how I love your kitchen! And your "star" knitting...so cute!
Oh yes that goggle does keep us on our toes..I have been on goggle chrome for a long long time...I find it's been good to me...oh dear I should not have said that...hope you find your fingerless glove pattern soon. I always wear mine! Hugs.

I'm not on Google Chrome and I haven't had any problems with posting comments. I've seen all these threads going back and forth about bloggers having issues with their blogs and/or commenting but it hasn't affected me at all. I'm on Safari with my MAC laptop.

It's 57 degrees here - but the temperature will be dropping over 20 degrees today with a cold front with gusty winds arriving. Hubby is busy putting up our IKEA Billy bookcases. He's almost done then we have to start moving books upstairs.

Have a wonderful day Kate! Loved your photos today.

Your rug is really pretty. I have made one rug in my life and that was a really long time ago. I'm enjoying reading through your blog.
