It's always nice to be back home.
We sure had a nice relaxing time up north.
It did prove to be a
WHITE WINTER
{fleet foxes}
just over the state line into Wisconsin.
But..... it was rather hard to find a smidgen of color across the landscape.
Our little weekend get-a-way was more about
RELIEVING the FATIGUE
and just relaxing.
There was more than enough
WINTER WHITE
for me to know quickly that this journey wasn't going to be about
taking a lot of pictures.
We did return yesterday with recharged batteries.
And that's the good news, as right now the
Sleet-ie-, Ice-ie, Drizzle-ie, Flake-ie,
weather is moving into the area.
I'm sure glad we are not on the road today.
I'm sure glad to be back in the comfort of my snuggl-ie warm house.
I'm sure glad I decided to pick up where I left off.
Now, this my friends, is the perfect way to start my morning......
That is....after I have a hop around to see what you all have been up to.
And of course, finish the laundry too.
Here's what I learned too....
Always check your laptop before you leave.
I realized that I had not loaded up GOOGLE CHROME or GOOGLE READER yet.
Which proved to me was one of the issues I was having a while back.
That will be on the check list for my next vaca, which will be coming soon.
Of course, this time I will be heading south.
South to the Sunny Beaches.
But, where that will be and who I may see, I'll save for another time.
For now, it's time to check the freezer to see what soup I have for our dinner tonight.
Yeap, it's going to be a soup night with snow predicted all day.

10 Fun Thoughts from Friends:
I am so happy you are recharged Kate! Your photos are magnificent. I always enjoy the look of a fresh snow fall. IT's that dirty slush I can do without splashing on my windshield. Oh living in Buffalo, NY I had a plenty of slushy dirty windows. You look so cozy too, well what I could see of your feet and blankie!
That looks like a perfect way to spend the day there in your chair. You have to ease back into being home. Most of that laundry can wait another day. I stared at that snowy picture a long time. Snow is pictures is the only kind I'm going to see this year unless we get a surprise next month. There's still hope. Yes, I wonder who you will see down South. heh-heh.
That first photo is so very beautiful - perfect for a postcard
Just what sort of Christmas I would like to experience one day - huge sigh
It is fun to travel, but always good to return home, safe and sound. Most games are about "getting to HOME", i.e. baseball, where it is all about home base. Your pics are lovely as usual. I don't think I have ever seen a bad photo on your blog. I downloaded Google Chrome this morning after reading some comments and remembering another friend who claims it is well worth it. We will give it a try and see how things go. Loosing that post was a bummer, such a waste of my time, and here I am less beautiful because I lost out on 2 more hours of beauty sleep, lol. Take care Kate, keep warm.
(((HUGS))) Susanne :)
Always nice to get away and recharge. I love the photo of you covered up inj your cozy blankie...love that kind of morning.
WHAT? Another vacay????
You are quite the traveler lately Kate!!
Hugs,
Kris
Welcome back and love the photos. I think I know who you're going to meet.. but haven't figured out where.
We have some honest to goodness snow happening now. After 2 days of the weathermen going on and on about snow.. but they're already saying it will warm up tomorrow. Sheesh.
((hugs)), Teresa :-)
Wow your pics are great!! I think you look quite ready to grab a hook and relax..loving the pink slippers..have a great day
Glad to hear you are back home safe and sound. So nice to be able to cozy up with hook and yarn while the weather outside is frightful. Heck, I don't really need the weather or a reason to stay in and crochet. :) Have a great rest of the week. Tammy
Finally some snowy photos. There haven't been many of them around in blogland so far this year. I guess you are having a bit of snow now surely ? Are you having to clear your paths yet?
I have the Oldies arriving today for Dad's birthday bash so if you don't hear from me for a few days I'll catch up when they leave.
cheers... and stay warm.
Now your lovely morning looked perfect to me....it is so cold and snowy here! 2 snowdays this week and yesterday should of been one...you know the kind of snow that just blows in the freezing cold and there are snow drifts and white-outs everywhere... that's our weather!!! Ok if you can stay inside. So off I go...wish me luck...just wish I could snuggle with a blanket and hot cup of tea this morning. A sunny vacation is just what I need! Hugs. xoxoxoxoxo
